We know a lot of folks out there want a flexible "skin" case for their Galaxy Nexus. We also know that with so many available, it's often hard to figure out which one is the best. Luckily, you've got AC and Raul to help make the decision easier. Raul dives in and compares the Cruzerlite Androidified TPU case against the CaseMate Droid Creature case -- two very popular choices.
Check out the video and see Raul's comparison. We don't want to spoil the ending, but you can buy the winner right here. Thanks, Raul!

A jailbreak of iOS 4.3.1 is now possible with both PwnageTool on Mac, and Sn0wbreeze on Windows. RedmondPie -- who else? -- has some handy guides that you can follow for all iOS 4.3.1 devices on Windows, for iPhone 4 on OS X, iPad 1 on OS X, iPhone 3GS on OS X, and iPod touch 4G and 3G on OS X. All iOS 4.3.1 jailbreaks are still tethered, meaning you'll have to jailbreak your device after every reboot. An untethered jailbreak is slated for release sometime in the next week -- but 4.3 was meant to have an untether, too, and that never emerged. Maybe Apple's updated security mechanisms will finally keep hackers at bay!Jailbreak iOS 4.3.1 on OS X or Windows with PwnageTool or Sn0wbreeze originally appeared on Download Squad on Mon, 28 Mar 2011 06:30:00 EST. Remember that funky beat your buddy at work shared with you over Google+? Don't bother digging through their post history, Mountain View's music service has you covered with its new "Shared with me" auto-playlist. This self-maintaining list keeps track of all the songs friends and colleagues send your way, making it easy to hunt down a catchy tune your brother sent you, or to endlessly ridicule a coworker's awful sense of sound. The playlist not only shows the track, artist, duration and price, but also a preview of the Google+ post (and a thumbnail of its author) that you scored the shared song from in the first place. Looking for lost music? Just take a look at your auto-playlists.

If you're aching to bring some motion-tracking video action to your smartphone but can't stomach the Swivl's $179 price tag, you might find the new Swivl-it more palatable. For $129, you get the same automatic panning, horizontal follow and remote control features of the original product, but you'll miss out on the built-in microphone and automatic tilt (there's manual tilt instead). The Swivl-it is available for pre-order now and will start shipping in late May. Click through to the Swivl site for a closer look.

We've been writing so many "please welcome star writer" posts lately that we're having to work hard to think of new versions of that headline. But that's the only painful part of this one, as we're very excited to announce that pro blogger Ryan Lawler will be joining the team on Monday. You might know him for his work over last five years covering various media, telecom, online video, and -- as he made his way from New York to San Francisco with GigaOM -- startups.Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Techcrunch/~3/BSEHb_NSNmw/

Horace Dediu at Asymco has run the numbers and it's not looking good. Samsung and Apple now control an estimated 99% of vendor profits with HTC scraping in with 1%. BlackBerry and Nokia barely register and, in fact, form a loss. First, I'd like to note why Dediu believes carriers are willing to cede so much of their profit to Apple and, presumably, Samsung. It's mostly about lock-in, a sort of bear hug that encourages customers to stay put in the long run. He writes:Source: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Techcrunch/~3/v4Zobqu436s/
