Google TV has finally made it to the UK. The first Google TV device to go on sale on these shores, is the Sony NSZGS7B -- catchy isn't it -- which despite a different, er, name, is the same box as Sony just started shipping in the U.S.
The Dixons group has it up for sale at £199.99, as does Sony direct, which isn't necessarily going to break the bank. And, with no Nexus Q to catch the eye over here, it's potentially more worth checking out. With the UK launch too, comes UK specific on-demand content such as the BBC iPlayer and 4OD.
Otherwise, it looks to be the same Google TV experience our American cousins have been getting all this time. What the future truly holds for Google TV is a mystery, but at least us Brits finally got to be a part of it.

We've seen our fair share of Android-powered set-tops in our time, but KDDI (with the help of Panasonic) has taken a slightly different entertainment route with its recently unveiled Smart TV Box. Similar to some Google TV boxes, which the Smart TV Box isn't, KDDI plans to bring this one to cable providers in Japan to act as the main unit in living rooms, with the testing phase set to commence as soon as next month. KDDI's Smart TV Box is powered by an undisclosed dual-core chip and feeds off of a tasty bite of Mountain View's Ice Cream Sandwich. As far as ports and other features, there's HDMI and three USB ports on board, while ethernet (WiFi, too) keeps you connected and a built-in hard drive takes care of all your DVR needs. Like we said earlier, trial runs will start in August, but the Japanese company expects to have the brick officially up-and-running in a number of households later this fall. In the meantime, though, there's a soothing video for your viewing pleasure just past the break.

Verizon over the past few months now has become quite aggressive in in rolling out 4G LTE to the masses. Most recently, they've gone ahead and announced 33 new markets that will go live today, July 19th. That's great news for LTE iPad owners who'll now enjoy faster, better download speeds in a plethora of new locations.
With the impending release of the iPhone 5, rumored to have LTE as well, the choice of carriers will be tougher this year if LTE coverage is on your list of concerns. The full list of new and expanded coverage area for Verizon can be found below.

Just as was promised a few weeks back, British broadcaster Sky has opened up its Sky Go on-demand video app to certain Android devices running 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and above, including the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Note and Galaxy S III. The update brings ICS support to the Sky Go app for the first time, allowing Sky subscribers with these devices to view the same streaming content available on approved Gingerbread devices like the Desire S and Desire HD. Unlike many other app vendors, Sky tailors its offerings to specific phones, usually high-selling models, so Sky Go remains restricted to a small number of handsets for now.
As we reported a few weeks back, Sky Go recently launches new streaming content across its range of Sky Go apps, including entertainment channels Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, Sky Living and Sky Arts 1. An app update also allowed subscribers to view and manage their accounts on-the-go.
If you find yourself in possession of both a Sky subscription and one of the supported devices, you download the Sky Go app for Android via the Google Play web interface linked below.

Well known ChromiumOS developer Hexxeh has been fiddling around with the Raspberry Pi since its debut and his latest experiment is a beta version of the Chromium browser, ready to run on Raspbian images. While it's not the full Chromium OS (that's still under development) it should help ease the pain of browsing the web on one of the $35 Broadcom-powered units. It still requires quite a bit of horsepower however, so overclocking your Raspberry Pi and using a fast USB stick or SD card for storage is advised, hit the source link below for more instructions on downloading and running the 35MB~ package.

While many Nexus S owners are still hanging on for their bit of tooth-rot, folks in other places have already started receiving OTA Jelly Bean updates. If you can't wait, and if you own a GSM Nexus S (either I9020T or I9023), then you can find the full and official ROM file linked up at the XDA thread below. For the time being, if you have a Sprint Nexus 4G then you'll unfortunately just have to chew on something else.
