Verizon announced today that they will be flipping the 4G LTE switch tomorrow, August 16th, in 34 new markets while expanding coverage across 38 others. To Verizons credit, their 4G LTE rollout now covers more than 75 percent of the U.S. population making their grand total of areas covered beyond 370 markets.
That's great news for LTE iPad owners who'll now enjoy faster, better download speeds in quite a few new areas plus, it should certainly help Verizon push some iPhone 5 devices that are rumored to have LTE as well. Looking for the full list to see if your area is covered? You'll find it below.

It's pretty obvious from Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan's one-man presentation at Gamescom that he's buzzing about his new gaming keyboard. Ready to accompany the accessory maker's Ouroboros gaming mouse (hands-on impressions coming very soon), the Deathstalker will arrive in Ultimate and Standard versions. They both plump for chiclet-style keys and the pricier (and larger) Ultimate felt both light and slim. The standard issue packs three backlit color options, while the bigger board adds in Razer's light-up Switchblade UI, seen on its first gaming laptop. The first part of this is ten LCD keys that can be customized to gaming buttons or more typical PC use. They're still contextual, meaning if you launch the calculator from one of the keys, they will then transform into more appropriate calculator functions. Beneath that, a touchpanel LCD can act as a trackpad and accepts several gesture motions. It can also display your Twitter feed, game information and plenty more. The keyboard will also feature Synapse 2, Razer's new cloud-based settings service. The CEO explained that a player's custom layout and profile for the 'board could be stored online and then accessed from any computer it's plugged into, ready for your next (online) fight. Get our first impressions after our gallery and the break.

Following up on our news item of the leaked specs of the new Lenovo Windows 8 Thinkpad Tablet 2, here’s a Lenovo Sneak Peek. Not a lot of new information in the video however it’s a good visual overview. One thing to note is you won’t be able to use the mini-HDMI when the unit’s docked in the keyboard.

HP's webOS team has been keeping busy with its open source project, but it's time for a new challenge in the form of Gram: a fresh HP-funded offshoot focused on "software, user experience, the cloud, engineering, and partnering." We're not quite sure where that list could lead, but webOS, Enyo and cloud services are all expected to play a role in future endeavors. Judging from the fancy flyer after the break, a lot of energy is going into brand-building right now, along with a dose of secrecy, but hopefully some more concrete details will happen along soon.

When you’re a gadget lover, it seems every day presents you with the next got-to-have-it item. There are so many categories of gear – bags, smart phones, computers, media players, and tablets – that you can’t afford to try them all. For example, we just had to buy a new laptop for our daughter to use for the new school year, so I don’t have much money left in the new gear budget.
I was interested in trying out one of the new 7″ tablets, like Google’s Nexus 7 tablet, perhaps. I think a 7″ tablet would be great to throw into my purse to take with me everywhere. The Nexus has everything I’d need to keep myself entertained: high-resolution 7″ 1280X800 screen that will make ebooks, magazines, and movies sharp, clear, and easy on my eyes; a quad-core Tegra 3 processor and 1GB of memory to make everything lightning fast; 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth to keep me connected; Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) for access to all the latest features; and a 4325mAh battery for 9 hours of HD video playback or 10 hours of reading or surfing. But even the $199 for an 8GB Nexus 7 isn’t in my new toy budget right now.
There are ways to expand your tech budget so you can buy more of the things you’d like, such as buying used or refurbished gear, if you can wait until someone tires of it and wants to unload it. You can also try an auction site like HappyBidDay, where you purchase bids and use them to earn the right to buy tablet computers, TVs, vacuum cleaners, MP3 players, gift cards, and a variety of other products for amazingly low prices. Go check them out to see what they have to offer and decide what your next new toy will be.

Here's an image purporting to be of the Galaxy Note 2's bezel, and if it's a fake, it's a very good one. Taken by a (sharper-than-usual) blurrycam snapper wearing factory-style dust booties, the hardware suggests a chunky, squared-off design for the second-generation phablet that rejects the Galaxy S III's more curvaceous body. The ruler draped from corner-to-corner jibes with earlier rumors that it would have a slightly expanded 5.5-inch canvas for your S-Pen fun. We just have one question: does that photo make it look curved along the horizontal axis, or is the loose component just bendy?
