It's not every day that a phone makes you want to put on a suit and tie. And pants. That's one of the perks of this job -- we can review any phone, at any time, and any stage of undress we see fit. And same goes for the Sprint Motorola Photon Q, we suppose. It's a mix of features that business types have been clamoring for on sprint for some time now, with features that any aspiring Android nerd demands.
And that's the Photon Q.
We'll save you a little trouble here, if you'd like. What Sprint has in the Photon Q is a 4.3-inch display, a killer 5-row keyboard and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It's it's quite the combination, especially for business types. Piqued your interest yet? Let's continue.

Let us not forget that there are more than two apps available this election year -- the Gary Johnson 2012 app is now available for download in the Google Play Store. Whether you already know former New Mexico Governor Johnson's platform or have never heard of him, the app has a lot of great information available. You can see his live event schedule, read his updates from social networks, share with your friends and get links to all of his campaign resources.
The app is free and available now, so hit up the Google Play Store link above and download it for yourself. A more politically informed voting base is always a good thing.

Don’t worry, Windows 8 users. You won’t have to look at all those Apple users and suffer from too much app envy. BlueStacks and AMD have you covered.
The two companies have teamed up to bring 500,000 mobile Android apps to Windows PCs through the AMD AppZone Player starting Thursday. The software is powered by BlueStacks, a company that makes it possible to download and run Android apps on PCs and Macs.
The partnership between BlueStacks and AMD, which has invested in the software company, focuses on optimizing Android apps for AMD-powered Windows devices. While Intel-powered PCs can access Android apps through BlueStacks’ original Windows software, the AppZone Player is optimized for AMD’s GPU and APU technology.
“This helps AMD leapfrog Intel by making Windows 8 more attractive on their tablets and PCs,” BlueStacks CEO Rosen Sharma told Wired in an e-mail. “We’ve worked closely together to optimize the performance of the apps for AMD’s unique ‘graphics and computing on one chip’ setup. The result is awesome — mobile apps run beautifully on their machines.”
The AppZone Player is especially useful considering the nascent state of app development for Windows 8. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is currently pitching the new system to developers, but the platform has only around 2,000 apps just one month before launch. With BlueStacks’ technology, AMD PC users won’t have to worry; they will be able to easily access the apps available on the established Android ecosystem.
Popular apps like Flipboard, Homerun Baseball and Jetpack Joyride will be available to use on current AMD-powered Windows 7 PCs and upcoming Windows 8 devices (including touch-enabled ones). Currently, however, most manufacturers have announced Intel-powered Windows 8 PCs, notebooks and tablets. But according to BlueStacks, the two companies are already in talks with PC manufacturers like HP to get the AppZone preloaded onto future AMD devices.
Considering how important app choices are to user experience, the AppZone Player could certainly be a determining factor for consumers when deciding between an Intel-powered or AMD-powered Windows device. It will take longer than a month for Microsoft to grow out its own Windows Store, and this gives users immediate access to what’s already available to Android devices. And it helps developers too, who get a wider distribution network without having to spend time building for a separate platform.

When we review a product, we’re usually given a sample by the manufacturer that’s been hand-picked just for us to test. The hardware has been examined for defects, every feature has been fully vetted and scrutinized, and the software has been triple-checked.
For most every high-profile iPhone 5 review you’ve read so far, this was the process — in particular, the dozen or so reviews that landed last week, before iOS 6 launched and before the phone was made available to everyone.
But we’re bringing you the real deal. I stayed up past midnight to pre-order my iPhone 5 right when it went on sale. I chose a black 32GB iPhone 5 on AT&T. I spent my own money. My phone arrived via UPS the same day the iPhone went on sale at retail locations. My review unit didn’t go through any extra inspection processes. It wasn’t pampered or given any special treatment. I’ve tested exactly the same hardware you would get, straight out of the box.
And let me tell you, it’s a gem. For all the talk of the new iPhone being boring, iterative, or lacking that trademark Apple flavor of cutting-edge innovation, it is undoubtedly the best handset you can buy. The iPhone 4S was also a fantastic phone, and it still is. But the subtle faults of the iPhone 4S have now been rendered visible by their absence on the more refined iPhone 5.
If you’re considering an upgrade, I’d recommend one, especially if you skipped the last release. If you’re just now jumping into the iPhone ecosystem, this is a device that’s sure to make a killer first impression.

Dave Wiskus and Lex Friedman were kind and foolish enough to invite me to join them on their Mule Radio podcast, Unprofessional. We were bound by law not to discuss iPhones or iPads, which meant we kept trying to discuss iPhone and iPads using thinly veiled analogies to martial arts, movies, TV shows, and comic books.
It's short, bitter, Bane-ish, profane, and totally unprofessional. Check it out.

With Logitech's Squeezebox platform having quietly and unexpectedly reached its EOL status, the company found it necessary to let its customers know where they stand going forward. In a very detailed letter from UE product director Ariel Fischer, the Harmony maker reassured current Squeezebox owners it will continue to offer support for these products, adding that the current "mysqueezebox" website and certain apps will still work with existing devices. What's more, those who managed to snag one of those Squeezebox Radios will have the option to upgrade to the outfit's new UE Smart Radio service -- which, according to Logitech, can play nicely alongside existing Squeezebox products, though this "will operate and be controlled separately." All in all, it could be worse -- and, in age where customer service can sometimes be rather unpleasant, we're sure most of us can appreciate the transparency being shown in the open letter. Speaking of which, you'll find that at the source link below.
